(July 23, 2026, Nanning)

Myanmar Ambassador to China, H.E. U Zaw Win Myint, accompanied by Daw Khaing Su Linn, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of Myanmar in Nanning, participated in the "ASEAN Diplomats' Study tour to Guangxi," organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from July 22 to 23, 2026. They were joined by other Beijing-based ASEAN Ambassadors and Nanning-based Consuls-General.

On July 22, the diplomatic delegation visited the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence (AI) Application Cooperation Center. Later in the evening, they attended a welcoming reception at the Liyuan Resort in Nanning, where they were officially received by Mr. Chen Gang, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangxi Autonomous Regional Committee, and Mr. Wei Tao, Member of the CPC Central Committee.

The following day, July 23, the delegation traveled to Qinzhou City to observe the major infrastructure developments of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. During this visit, they toured the Pinglu Canal project, a major inland waterway valued at 72.7 billion yuan that is designed to accommodate 5,000 ton vessels. Furthermore, they observed China's fifth fully automated container terminal and its first sea-rail combined transport system, as well as the comprehensive cold chain logistics center located at Qinzhou Port, before the familiarization trip successfully concluded that evening.

Guangxi remains the only region in China connected to ASEAN by both land and sea, serving as a vital hub for both the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
