Myanmar New Year Donation Ceremony held at Lingguang Temple (Temple of the Buddha Tooth Relic) in Beijing

Myanmar Embassy in Beijing hosted a Myanmar New Year Donation Ceremony at the Lingguang Temple ( Buddha Tooth Relic Temple) in the morning of 17 April 2026, marking the first day of the Myanmar New Year in Myanmar calendar year of 1388.

The ceremony was attended by Myanmar Ambassador to China H.E. U Zaw Win Myint and spouse, Military Attaché Brigadier General Zaw Zaw Naing and spouse, Embassy and Military Attaché Office staffs and their families, Myanmar students studying in China, altogether about 250 guests.

According to the program, the ceremony was commenced with paying homage to the Triple Jewels - Buddha, Dhama and Sanga, followed by sermons delivered by the Venerables of the Lingguang Temple. Afterwards, attendees led by Ambassador and spouse offered fruits and donations to the Venerables.


Then, Ambassador extended New Year’s greetings and the guests were served with Myanmar Traditional foods, including Yellow-Sticky-Rice, fried vermicelli and fruits, donated by Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché office. Later, the ceremony was concluded by paying homage to the sacred Buddha Tooth Relic enshrined at the temple.
