Myanmar Embassy Staff led by Ambassador’s Spouse Madame Mi Mi Maw hosted rotating Tea Gathering Event of the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) - Beijing at the Myanmar Embassy

Myanmar Embassy staff led by Ambassador’s Spouse Madame Mi Mi Maw hosted rotating Tea Gathering Event of the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) at the Myanmar Embassy in Beijing on 12th August 2025.

The event was attended by spouses of Myanmar Ambassador, Brunei Ambassador, Philippine Ambassador, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Center, and lady diplomats and spouses from other ASEAN embassies.

During the event, Madame Mi Mi Maw delivered a warm and welcoming remarks mentioning the ceremony’s features of providing an insightful presentation on Thanakha, a traditional cosmetic that is currently under process of an effort to inscribe in the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. A comprehensive presentation about Myanmar Traditional Thanakha followed by a demonstration of how-to-apply Thanakha were also involved and all ladies participated in the Thanakha Experience Activity. Myanmar embassy staff and family members performed with “Mingalarpar” and “My Dear Myanmar Girl Songs”.

Subsequently, a reception was proceeded with a variety of traditional Myanmar delicacies namely Milk Noodle, Shan Rice mix with Fish Paste and Pickled Tea Leaf Salad. Additionally, the current rotating chair of the ASEAN Ladies Circle - Beijing, the Vietnamese Embassy formally handed over the next rotating chairmanship to the Brunei Embassy and the Madame of Myanmar Ambassador performed as a witness to the handover event.
