Mawlamyine - A charming town, is the capital of Mon State, situated at the month of the Thanlwin River. There are many famous interesting places. About 34km from Mawlamyine is Thanbyuzayet, an allied war memorial cemetery for the prisoners of war who lost their lives in the building of famous Death Railway across the River Kwai.

Kyaikkhami Pagoda - It was perched on the rocks by the sea and joined to the land by a covered causeway is the main attraction. Set-se Beach is also celebrated for its beauty spot.

Maungmagan Beach - This beach in Dawei (Tavoy) is extremely noted for its scenic spots. Dawei and Myeik (Mergui) are the famous towns on the Thaninthayi coast (Tennaserim) which can be visited by guided tours with prior permission.

Mogok - This city is known as Germs city. Myanmar rubies, sapphires, and emeralds and other precious stones are minded in Mogok area. Only packaged tours are allowed to visit Mogok with special prior permission.

Lashio - It is a trading town, the famous Burma Road build by the British before the wars, intersects with Ledo Road leading into the Yunan Province.

Muse - A small town on the bank of Shweli River, is the main border gateway opposite Mae Sai in Thailand. The Golden Triangle Paradise Resort is located on bank of the river facing Laos and Thailand.

Myitkyina - The largest town in Kachin State. Visitors can tour the confluence (Myitsone) of Malikha and Maikha, the source of Ayeyarwaddy.

Puta O - It is surrounded by snow-peaked mountains. It is cool the whole year round and there are many varieties of citrus fruits grown in the orchards. It is the nearest town to the base camp for climbing Mt. Khakhaborazi (5889 metres) which is the highest Mountain in Southeast Asia.

Kawthaung - Formerly called Victoria Point. Ranong is the border town in Thailand. Visitors can take 20 minutes boat trips to Kawhtaung for sightseeing and shopping. Andaman club on the Thahtaykyun Island is located west of Kawthaung.

Andaman Club (Thahtaykyun) - Thahtaykyun or Thahtay Island is known as Palau-Ru. It is very famous for Andaman Club which includes fishing, the best scuba diving, a casino, duty free shops, a golf course and etc. The speed boats will take you to Andaman Club from Kawthaung.

The wildlife Parks and Sanctuaries are Alaungdaw Kathepa National Park, Popa Mountain Park, Hlawga Wildlife Park, Shwesettaw Wildlife Sanctuary, Inlay Birds’ Sanctuary, Mohingyi and Sein Ye forest Camp.

Myanmar is endowed with a rich diversity of habitat types arising largely from its unusual ecological diversity. It is home to nearly 300 known mammal species, 300 reptiles and about 100 bird species, and a haven for about 7,000 species of plant life. Since Myanmar considers such a rich pool of biodiversity as an important national asset, the Government has drawn up strict regulations to protect its biological resources.
